Warbird flyovers, a Nashville headliner, cirque performers, a 500-drone show, and fireworks headline Colorado's official sesquicentennial celebration on August 1, 2026
BROOMFIELD, CO — Colorado turns 150 years old on August 1, 2026 — and the state is celebrating in a way that has never been done before. The Mile High 150 Expo, produced by 1943 Events, the Commemorative Air Force Mile High Wing, and Mile High Air Boss, will transform Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport (BJC) into the centerpiece of Colorado's official sesquicentennial Colorado Day celebration.
The two-day event kicks off on Friday, July 31 with an exclusive gala evening on the RMMA Terminal Ramp — an invitation-only evening beneath the wings of Colorado's most historic aircraft. The main celebration takes place on Saturday, August 1, Colorado's 150th birthday, beginning with the Colorado Flyover Salute — a coordinated warbird and aircraft tribute spanning multiple points along the Colorado Front Range from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
Gates open at the RMMA Terminal Ramp at 5:00 PM for the main event, featuring a full evening of world-class programming including a Nashville headliner (to be announced), cirque-style aerial performers, a 500-drone choreographed light show, and a closing fireworks finale over the airfield.
The Colorado Flyover Salute is a signature moment of the event — a multi-aircraft formation tribute along the Front Range that will be visible to communities across the region, honoring Colorado's deep connection to aviation history and its pioneering spirit.
The Mile High 150 Expo is proudly supported by the Commemorative Air Force Mile High Wing, Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport, Signature Aviation, 1943 Events, Mile High Air Boss, and RealClean Aircraft Detailing. Sponsorship opportunities are available for organizations wishing to align with Colorado's premier sesquicentennial event.
Tickets are available at milehigh150expo.com. General Admission, Premium, and VIP packages are on sale now. Parking on-site: GA $10 · VIP $25 · Handicap $10. Rideshare drop-off available closest to the main event.
